Clean Water for Papua New Guinea

Clean Water for Papua New Guinea

In a small village in Papua New Guinea's West New Britain islands, women like Anchila walk 4 kilometers each to a river they use to wash their clothes and children -- and to stock up on drinking water. The village's children have long suffered from water-borne illnesses. Today a new, environmentally friendly clean water system provides the village with safe, accessible drinking water, and the village's children are thriving. It's part of ADB's Poverty and Environment Program.
