Summary:
The project reduced levels of mortality and morbidity caused by chemical pollution in selected local communities in India and aimed to strengthen local government and community capacity to initiate and undertake successful remediation efforts.
Poverty-Environment Linkage:
The project recognized the adverse impact of industrial pollution to the socio-economic development of the poor communities in India and offered remediation approaches to reduce levels of mortality and morbidity caused by pollution.
