Indonesia is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, being highly vulnerable to both natural disasters and social conflict. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works to ensure that Indonesia has the right tools to meet these challenges and to fulfil its tremendous potential.

The 2010 GHI shows some improvement over the 1990 GHI, falling by almost one-quarter.
